One loses, the other one gains. Debra Messing's Julia isn't going to be single for long as she will find comfort in the arms of Daniel Sunjata's character. He's scheduled to appear in a recurring role in the second season of Smash. Given that Julia smashed her marriage after having an affair with the man she previously had an affair with.

Daniel Sunjata has been recently seen as a regular on FX's Rescue Me and also had an arc on Grey's Anatomy.

On other Smash matters, Karen is getting a new roommate portrayed by Krysta Rodriguez. After bidding farewell to some regulars of the first season (Ellis, Frank and Dev) Smash is recruiting a new series regular in the person of Jeremy Jordan, his character is described as a a "Brooklyn-born singer with a self-destructive" side, according to TV Line.

Also Smash is looking for actors to portray a gay Broadway hopeful and a female African-American chorus member.

Last but not the least important news on the menu is that Jennifer Hudson is joining the show for a certain numbers of episodes and will portray a longtime Broadway star.
